Chuck Strong

Chuck and his wife Martha joined UBC in 2018. In November 2023, he became co-pastor.  In January 2025, Daniel Stallings, the church’s longest serving pastor, over 10 years, resigned. In February 2025, the church voted to extend the call for Chuck to remain as pastor and he enthusiastically agreed.

Chuck was born and raised in Bay Minette and received his B.S. degree in applied statistics from the University of South Alabama.  He received an M.Div. degree in preaching and a Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He enjoys watching sports, playing fantasy baseball, and baking cookies.  Chuck and Martha have two daughters: Rachel Mann and her husband Jason and Laura Strong.

Music Ministries

Music is an important part of our worship services each week at UBC. Having recently marked the 50-year anniversary for our Allen organ and Steinway piano, we have shared countless hymns, anthems and meditations through the years.

Accompanists and instrumentalists work together with UBC’s choirs, ensembles, and congregation to present songs of praise, reflection, reassurance, challenge and joy. These dimensions of our worship times seek to honor God, to glorify Christ, to celebrate the glorious gift of music, and to uplift and encourage one another, using texts and tunes both old and new.
